Beach fishing can be a challenge however if you can find a steady rip moving out to sea, you are sure to find fish. Fish use these rips to lay in wait for fish schools that move in and out to run the gutters along the beach shore looking for food. Berley works well in these areas and if you can fish without too much weight you can use the rip to take your line way out beyond the sandbars and beach sure. Work the eddies and shallower waters in and around the rip too. Large fish lie off these areas looking for small bait fish. When fishing the gutters running parallel to the shore, you may have to walk with your bait to keep it out in the strike zone. Naturally this becomes difficult when strangers are fishing the same location.
