Fishing lures to Leader

When attaching lure to leader thought has to be provided to the fishing lures action. A firmly tied knot around the lures eyelet can result in restrictions on the fishing lures movement through the water. Knots such as the Collar & Capstan, Centauri and Lindeman, although excellent knots, can cause this restriction to the fishing lures action. The Homer Rhode Loop and Perfection Loop knots do not. If using the latter two knots, do not make the loop too large as the lures hooks can become entangled in the loop and there simply is no benefit from a larger loop.
The leader to lure knots illustrated here are suitable for tying both saltwater fishing lures and freshwater fishing lures.

The Centauri Knot is a knot every fisherman should make an effort to learn. The Centauri knots versatility and functionality makes it one of the most useful fishing knots you are likely to encounter.
The Collar & Capstan is a very secure method of attaching finer lines directly to the tow eye of a lure.
The Homer Rhode Loop is a useful knot for attaching lures to monofilament leaders.
The Lindeman knot is an excellent line to terminal knot and is best suited to light and medium diameter lines. It is easy to tie with some practice and retains a very good level of line strength too.
The Perfection Loop is a handy, simple to tie loop. Its main application is attaching leader line to lures or flies and is popular due to its small size.
